INTRODUCING
MYSELF
I'm Grace Loyola, a graphic designer and visual creative originally from Costa Rica, currently based between the Netherlands and the UK.
I work across graphic design, branding, UX/UI and visual storytelling, with a genuine interest in sustainability and the role design plays in building a better world. I believe good design should be bold, intentional and meaningful, and that's the standard I hold myself to in every project I take on.

REFLAWN
INTERNSHIP
As part of my Bachelor’s in Multimedia and Communication Design, I completed my internship at sustainability advocate, reflawn. During these 6 months, I created various types of content for social media and sustainability awareness in fashion.
I took part in brand design and concepts for videos and content for the platform. I also served as Copywriter for articles on relevant topics. Articles linked below.

POSTER
DESIGN
The design is rooted in the intersection of humans, nature, and technology, exploring how these three forces constantly shape, disrupt, and reflect one another in modern life.
The design highlights the importance of community and being present in the moment. Though reality may appear abstracted at first glance, a closer look reveals familiar, human scenes beneath the visual noise, grounding the viewer in something recognisable and shared.
CLOSING
THE LOOP
This project explores how visual design can communicate complex sustainability principles — translating data, systems, and ideas into accessible, compelling narratives that drive behaviour change.
Additionally, I created a platform for users to further understand sustainability and what it actually meanin terms of goals and benefits.
GRAPHIC
DESIGN POSTER
CUBA
This project combines graphic design and my photographs from a trip to Cuba in 2018.
A visual journey through the streets of Havana, where vintage cars drift past crumbling facades and daily life unfolds in vivid colour.
This series captures the quiet tension between Cuba's frozen-in-time aesthetic and the resilient energy of its people
GROTE KERK
LEEUWARDEN
As part of my studies in the Netherlands, I collaborated with the Grote Kerk Leeuwarden to design an invitation welcoming new visitors to engage with the church's evolving vision, spanning events, community support, and the concept of third spaces.
In the spirit of sustainable development, communities must not be left behind. The Grote Kerk has embraced a new purpose for its existing infrastructure, opening its doors to a broader audience as a space for culture, connection, and support for its visitors and the wider community.
UPCYCLE
LEEUWARDEN
Here's the corrected and polished version:
Upcycle Leeuwarden — Circular City Brand Identity Created in collaboration with Gemeente Leeuwarden
A brand identity developed for Leeuwarden's emerging vision as a circular city. The goal of this project was to raise awareness around the reuse and recycling of everyday materials — embedding sustainability into the city's visual culture and public consciousness.
The city's branding is captured in a single, bold idea: Upcycle Leeuwarden. The identity pairs original photography of the city with purposeful icons and engaging slogans, creating a visual language that feels both locally rooted and forward-thinking.
Creative Approach Street-level photography of Leeuwarden was combined with a curated set of icons and slogans to communicate the circular economy in an accessible and visually compelling way, inviting residents and visitors alike to see the city through a more sustainable lens.
